Conscious Edinburgh is an entirely student-led registered charity, which has two main goals:
1) To raise a significant amount of money for our chosen mental health charities
2) To promote mental health on University campus via our own initiative 'Conscious on Campus'.
Conscious Edinburgh Mental Health Charity Ball will be our main fundraising event. The ball will be held on the 16th November 2019, following on from the success of our first ball in 2018.

Last year Conscious Edinburgh raised a staggering £27,118.52, and we hope to better the success of that ball, not only in terms of money raised but also awareness. Despite great improvements in mental health awareness over the past few decades, there is still a long way to go.
A large reason behind why we are so passionate about these issues is because in 2016, a close friend of the founding members of Conscious, Rahoul Biswas-Hawkes, tragically took his own life during is first year at University, at the age of 19. Rahoul was extremely bright and well-liked and his death came as a shock to all he knew. The fact that Rahoul had been going through issues of depression to such an extent without the knowledge of any of this friends and family has been a source of great alarm for us all and as such we are determined to make changes so that other people going through similar issues have sufficient support and counselling networks available to them and are willing to seek such support.
Conscious on Campus
Conscious on Campus is a new initiative started this year, we aim to hold events throughout the year. Such events will include, sporting activities, mental health first aid training, yoga sessions as well as art and pet therapy.
All our sessions will be free of charge and open to everyone.
Please keep a look out for more information in the coming months!
We hope to raise a significant amount of money for our 5 chosen charities for 2019-20.
All of these charities are amazing organisations which make such a difference for mental health in Edinburgh and throughout the UK. Despite great improvements in mental health awareness over the past few decades, there is still a long way to go.

A big thank you to Neon Eye who filmed and edited this video for us!
The Conscious Mental Health Charity Ball 2018 was held at the gorgeous Gosford House just outside of Edinburgh. This ball was bigger and better than anything Edinburgh has currently experienced. We moved away from the typical sit down meal and creating a more relaxed, vibrant atmosphere with more freedom to enjoy many different activities INCLUDING:
- Many different music stages
- An Open Bar serving a wide range of drinks
- A variety of FREE food from delicious local food trucks
- Great non-music entertainment and activities
- A Ceilidh
**All included in the price of the ticket**
